2D Drawing Class
|
Title: Still life Medium: Charcoal Date: July 2016 These four drawing were inspired by many artist such as JD Hillberry, Brian Duey and some my instructor at the pre-college art program at UWM. I used the many techniques and lessons that I took in this class to apply to these four pieces. Charcoal was the main material that was used in the process of drawing these still life's. I learned how to shade and use light to give drawing a more realistic drawing in general. |
Process
In the summer for a week I took a drawing class in UWM. This classes was for beginning drawers such as myself, and people who were in general seeking more knowledge about drawing. The class started pretty basic and our first lesson was about Value Composition. Most of the things that I learned were a review for me because I learned most of the skills thought in freshmen. However, I felt as though I really needed the review because I had forgotten many of the skills that I had learned in freshmen year.
Act Questions
1) My inspiration was the material that was thought to me in the class. I learned many forms of drawing and looked at many different artists such as JD Hillberry, Brian Duey. This effected of my inspiration can be seen in the few drawing I have.
2) My overall feeling of 2D drawing is that it can entertain people and some people take comfort in the drawing they draw. It can generate many feeling depending on what is being drawn.
3) While I was in class, I learned about how everyone has their own style of drawing despite the fact that we were all thought to use the same inspirations and technique. Everyone still had their own individuality and a part of everyone's culture and emotions surfaced through their drawing.
4) The central idea of my artwork was to use charcoal, pencil and other drawing mediums such as ink to improve my drawing skills. Shading, lighting and other skills were thought to teach the skills.
5) I made the inference that lighting and shading gives a shape more depth. I also made the conclusion that using charcoal and a pencil is a bit different because they give off a different look on paper.
